He
enjoys collaborating with interior designers, architects,
historians, choreographers, or directors to create
specialized painted effects for their projects.
Dafford has painted over
300 murals across the United States, Canada, France,
Belgium, and England.
He has been painting murals, signs and fine art paintings
for 35 years.
In the past fifteen years, Dafford has concentrated
on working along the Ohio River, painting over two
hundred citation needed large historical images of
cities on their floodwalls.

ne
of America's most prominent mural artists, Robert Dafford
considered his artistic career began as early as high
school.
His
studies in art at the University of Southwestern Louisiana
were interrupted by the Vietnam war, and he served for
three years as a naval illustrator and draftsman aboard
the U.S.S. Independence in the Mediterranean.
Since
then, he has painted more than fifty murals, ten of
which are in Canada and some in Europe.
Brother and fellow artist Douglas Dafford often collaborated;
Douglas handling the engineering challenges, while
Robert concentrated on the artistic aspects of a project.
